What are we learning this half term?

This half term, our focus will be on Science, we will be investigating how to make a complete electrical circuit! 

 

In English, we will be using 'Hello Lighthouse' by Sophie Blackall as a stimulus. We will be creating a non-chronological report all about lighthouses as well as writing a setting description inspired by the illuminating illustrations in this text!

 

 

In RE we will be exploring Mary's role in the Christmas Story in preparation for Christingle, and in Design Technology, we will be creating our own working lighthouse!

 

In Maths, In Y3 and Y4, the focus is on multiplication and division. They will be using their knowledge of multiplication and division facts up to the 12 times tables.

About the author: 

Matt Haig is an author for children and adults. His memoir Reasons to Stay Alive was a number one bestseller, staying in the British top ten for 46 weeks.
