What are we learning this half term?

This half term, our focus is on History/ Geography as we discover the Roman Empire!  We will be exploring where the Romans first invaded and where they came from. As well as this, we will be discussing the impact the Romans have had on Britain.

In English, following the Roman theme we are going to use the book ‘Empire's End: A Roman Story’ written by Laila Rasheed as our inspiration.  We will be using the exciting adventure to create our own setting description. Following this, we will be writing instructions to create our own Roman boat!

In RE we will be exploring what we can learn from religions in deciding between right and wrong, and in Science we will be looking at biology.

In Maths, Y3 will be continuing with fractions. We will be adding and subtracting fractions, as well as looking at unit and non-unit fractions. Following this, we will be looking at money and time. In Y4, the focus is on decimals, comparing and ordering decimals to the nearest hundredth. Similar to Y3, we will continue onto money and time, solving problems with money and converting analog to digital time.
