What are we learning this half term?
In Key stage 1, the children will be answering the enquiry question Is Change always positive? Our enquiry driver this for the Spring Term is History.
In History the children are going to be learning all about the Great Fire of London. In Geography, the children are going to learn to name and locate the four capital cities of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In Science, the children are going to learn to name parts of the human body and explore the 5 senses. In Design Technology , children will be exploring how to strengthen and stiffen paper in order to make a basket.
In English, our text is Toby and the Great Fire of London by Margaret Nash and Jane Cope. The children will be writing a shape poem and a newspaper report.
In Maths, Year 1 are going to learn about place value to 50 , length and height as well as mass and weight.
Year 2 are going to be learning about length and height as well as mass, weight and temperature.
