We have three classes in Key Stage one, these are Hope (Year 1), Grindleford (Year 2) and Matlock (Year 2).

What is our Enquiry Question for Autumn Term 2025?
In Key stage 1, the children will be answering the enquiry question What makes a community content?
Our enquiry subject driver this for the Autumn Term is Geography.
In English we are going to read the book Last Stop on Market Street.
We are going to be writing poems, an advert, setting description and a story.
In Maths we are learning all about addition and subtraction and shape.
In Geography we are going to be learning all about geographical features and identify if they are physical or man made. We are going to compare Sau Paulo to Chesterfield.
In Science, we are going to learn to about different types of animals and habitats.
In History, we will learn about toys of the past.
In RE , we will learn about the sacred symbols of Christianity, Islam and Judaism.
In PSHE we will be looking at what bullying is.
