What are we learning this term?
Our enquiry question for the Summer Term 2026 is ‘How Do We Express Ourselves'?
The driver for this enquiry is Expressive Arts
In Expressive Arts, we are learning about the artists Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Mariluce Mariá de Souza, and Coralie Turpin. The children will be looking at their art work and using this inspiration to produce their own artwork using different techniques.
We will also be exploring musical instruments. The children will have an opportunity to design and make their own instruments.
In our English sessions, the children will have opportunities to listen and retell a variety of texts focusing on colour and the transport ‘trains’. We will be using our phonic knowledge to write and read sentences.
In Mathematics, we are learning to count forwards and backwards to 20, sharing and grouping, odd / even numbers, understanding and using positional language.
This term, we will be looking at the world by identifying different countries and learning about them. We will also be looking at the transport ‘trains’ especially the different types of trains and the engineer ‘George Stephenson’.
Throughout the term, we learning about how to keep healthy. In our PE sessions the children will be practising balance and sequence of events. In RE sessions, we are learning about different celebrations.
Please remember to check Class Dojo for weekly updates on our learning in class.
