How is extra support allocated to children and matched to pupil’s SENDs?

 

The school budget includes money for supporting children with SEND. The Headteacher decides on the deployment of resources for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, in consultation with the school governors and SENCO on the basis of needs in the school.

 

At this time the following are considered:

  • pupils getting extra support already.
  • pupils needing extra support.
  • pupils who have been identified as not making as much progress as would be expected.

 

The school identifies the needs of pupils on a provision map. This details all support given within school and is reviewed regularly and changes made as needed. This ensures the needs of pupils are met and resources are deployed as effectively as possible. This information is also used to decide what resources/training and support is needed.
